In addition, it does prove there are Powells with the same name almost everywhere. Covington sworn doth say .That Ann Powell, late of JOHNSTON COUNTY, TEXAS, is dead, leaving a will and tst. and ....she left property in Richmond County, NC...that he is her guardian and the proper person to adminstrate on the estate....this application being aucourant to the admin. in Texas.....27August 1889 I offer this only as a possible resource for anyone searching North Carolina Powells.
