Can anyone identity the following Powells? Book "Births 1720 - 1792 From The Bristol Parish Register of Henrico, Prince George and Dinwiddie" Parents, John and Mary Powell John b. 16 Mar 1725 Anne b. 3 May 1728 Robert b. 17 Nov 1733 Parents, Edward and Eliz. Powell Thomas b. 14 Jul 1727 Mary b. 12 Aug 1733 Parents, Hezikiah and Bathia Powell Ann b. 16 Jun 1726 William b. 26 Apr 1730 Rebbecca b. 26 Feb 1730, d. 26 Mar 1734 These same births were also recorded in the Albemarle Parish Register of Surry and Sussex Counties, Virginia. I'm going through my stuff... will take me a bit to see what all I have for them... I've been searching the pieces off on all the info you sent and making the connections... The Edward W. Powell in Alabama is part of the Oglethorpe Powells but from what I can gather... your connection stays in Virginia & North Carolina????.... Parents, Edward and Eliz. Powell Thomas b. 14 Jul 1727 Mary b. 12 Aug 1733 They moved to Halifax Co Va....these are my folks. Mary married John Tuck John Tuck was born about 1730 and died 1773. He married Mary Powell in 1757. She was born 12 August 1733 Bristol Parish, King George Co. VA to Edward and Elizabeth . Powell. Mary died 23 May 1828 in Halifax Co. VA. Their fourteen children: I. Sarah Tuck was born 4 April 1758. She married Jesse Rakestraw. They were in Spartanburg SC by 1810 with ten children. II. Elizabeth Tuck was born 15 May 1760. She married ca. 1780 Reuben Jones, the son of Ambrose and Catherine Collins Jones, and had ten children. III. Edward "Ned" Tuck was born 10 December 1762 and died 17 January 1845. He married Nancy Winfrey, the daughter of James and Elizabeth Jones Winfrey, sister of David Winifree and niece of Reuben Jones, 11 January 1787. They had seven children. IV. Mary Tuck was born 12 January 1765 and died 17 January 1845. She married Nathan Fletcher August 1782. He was born 1755 and died 15 June 1822 at nine o'clock in the morning. He served in the Revolutionary War. They had five children. V. Susanna Tuck was born 4 April 1767. VI. Ezra Tuck (twin) was born 4 May 1768 and died in Spartanburg SC. He married Sarah Crittenden 1 October 1795. They had four known children. VII. Twin Stillborn 4 May 1768. VIII. Achsah Tuck was born 30 October 1770. She married David Winfree 27 October 1791. He was also a son of James and Elizabeth Jones Winfrey. He was born 10 September 1770. They moved to Tennessee and had eleven children. IX. Robert Tuck was born 3 October 1773. He married Nancy Dewberry, the daughter of William Irby and ... Hudson Dewberry, 1796. They had eleven children. X. Richard Tuck was born 29 December 1775 and died March 1851. He married Mary Jane ... 1796. Richard was in the War of 1812. He is buried at his homeplace which is now known at the old Tuck-Elliott Cemetery near Mountain School in Red Bank District, Halifax Co. VA. They had eleven children. XI. Bennett Tuck was born 1 January 1778. He married Susannah Pinson, sister to Boyd Pinson, 1799. They moved to Georgia in 1822. They had seven children. XII. John Tuck was born 23 March 1781. There are two marriages that could be his: (1) Martha Hester 29 November 1802 in Halifax Co. VA and (2) Mary Fletcher 9 November 1814 in Granville Co. NC. XIII. Jane Tuck was born 15 June 1783. She married Boyd Pinson. They had ten children. They lived in Oglethorpe Co. GA. XIV. David Tuck was born 14 June 1786. He married Elizabeth Dewberry, daughter of John and Mary ... Dewberry, 18 August 1804. They had eight children in the 1820 census.
