They had a son James Powell born September 9, 1759 in VA died in January 19, 1855 in Blount Co., AL. He married Rebecca Bynum about 1792 in Pendleton District, SC. She was born 1770 Orange Co., NC died February 4, 1851 in Blount Co., AL They are both buried at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Blount Co., AL. Have alot of descendants from these unions. Is the son James R.? I have a James ancestor, too, but he is buried at Roswell Creek Baptist Cemetery in Blount County. I think there were at least two independent Powell lines in Blount County. There was a George Powell, who was quite prominent as a surveyor, I think.
