Samuel T. Powell and Russell Bartholomew Powell were brothers and were in alameda County CA during the 1860 Census. They are both listed as stock raisers. They were in Linn County OR and homesteaded land there in 1853 or there abouts. Russell Bartholomew is my g grandfather. My grandfather was (depending on which record you are looking at) Russell Calvin Powell or Calvin Russell Powell. Samuel T. and Russell B. were sons of Calvin Powell II who was born in MA in 1792.
