QUESTION: Has anyone on the "POWELL-LIST" looked at the "THE CALENDER of STATE PAPERS", 1574-1660.(I assume these papers may be in Virginia). I for one do not know if they are in Virginia or in England. Thomas Powell made a petition, July 21, 1626, in behalf of himself and his poor distressed brothers and sisters to the "PRIVY COUNCIL", praying for an order to the Governor and Council of Virginia for the estate of his deceased brother, Captain Nathaniel Powell, which had come into the hands of Mr. Blaney, who married the relict of William Powell and is no way kin to them.(page 81) I thought if we could look at these papers, it would be nice to see if the brothers and sisters of Nathaniel Powell were named.
