Hi Jan; My Powells were in Edgefield, SC at the same time (1790) as your Charles Powell. My GGGGGrandfather was John H Powell who was born in Duplin Co, NC in 1760 and migrated to the Edgefield area around 1780 were he fought in the American Revolution. I have suspected for a long time that your Charles, Nathaniel, Thomas, Lewis, George, John and other Powells in the area are all related but proving it has been a nightmare.
