The family appears in the 1871 census living in Durham, England. It appears my g-grandmother, Sarah Jones, followed him there as that's where they married and where their first daughter was born. They immigrated to the US in 1887 and settled in the Greenfield section of the city of Pittsburgh - which actually is only a few miles from Homestead. Your Powell's aren't familiar to me, but if I come across anything I'll let you know. Nicholas & Sarah Powell nee Jones are buried in Homewood Cemetery near the Squirrel Hill section of the city of Pittsburgh.
