When and where was your father born? Do you know when and where Carl was born? I checked the Social Security Death Index for Carl W. Powell. Six are listed. Without a date of birth I can't tell if any of them are your grandfather or not. None show a Alabama connection. There are 216 Carl Powells in the index.
