    2. My line was in Monroe County Ohio by 1850. Family history is that they came from Virginia, settled in Rush Co. Indiana and ended up in Monroe Co. Ohio Michael 1. Powell family came from england. they were pioneer settlers in rush county, indiana near rushville. their names were william and his wife. their children were gidison, william,samuel,jane,and elizabeth powell." Barton Papers - Information by Joseph Clarence Powell on 2/3/1949 "Samuel Powell, Sr. was in the battle of Richmond Kentucky and killed there.
