Hi, I am researching John Powell b. 1595 in England and who arrived in Jamestown in 1609 and his ancestors. His wife was Catherine ? who arrived in Jamestown on the Flying Harte in 1622. Hello List, I am still searching for the parents of Lewis R. Powell, born in Va. 1791 or 1792. His brother was Pressly Powell, born in Va. 1787. All records are lost from birth of these 2 men, except they were in the War of 1812, and they show up in the 1820 Census of Hall Co. Ga.. Lewis R. Powell's first wife was a Sarah, and his second wife was Elizabeth Burke, born in 1828 in S. C. which would be my Gr. Gr. Grandmother. Pressly Powell married Nellie Castleberry in Hall Co. Ga. in the early 1800's. They were both in the Land Lottery in 1828 and won draws for land in North Western Ga. They both moved about the end of 1830 to Walker Co. Ga. (Lewis), and Paulding or Harlson Co. Ga. (Pressly). If anyone knows of this family, please get in touch with me. I will be willing to share any info I have about this family.
