Hello. Is anyone on the list researching Captain Oliver Hazard Powell who married his cousin Lucinda Powell in 1860 and lived in Bladen Co [or Colombus Co] NC? According to the Lucas- Powell book, two of his sons lived and died in N. central Florida. as did my GGranddad Barney Powell, supposedly b. 1851 in NC, married in Clay county in 1877, and may have been on the Cumberland Co NC Census in 1860 with the family of Benjamin and Elizabeth Powell , both born abt 1815 NC Others in this family were Nancy, b. abt 1841; Mary E. b.abt 1843; Charlotte, b. abt 1843; William H. ,abt 1850; and James abt 1853. Still trying to make a connection to the descendants of John and Elizabeth {Lee?} Powell whose descendants lived in the same area of NC-- Bladen-Columbus- CumberlandCounties.
