Does anyone actually know of a court record or an equal to a court record that states that the widow of Thomas Powell (probate 1739 in York Co) named Mary married Dr. Robert Philipson? I have been transcribing 44 pages of a Chancery Suit - Brunswick - Adm of Moss Vs Adm of John Powell, in which a Mary is a widow of a Powell, Dr. Robert Philipson and Robert Wynn. I chose the ordeal to actually find out the name of the Powell that Mary was a widow of but alas....it is not revealed in all these court papers! These papers do identify many others: Her sons were John Powell who died in Brunswick Co in 1791 with his son James Powell of Brunswick as administrator. Her son Robert Powell probate. Nov 1791., of Greensville Co. with son Robert Powell Jr as administrator as well as Matthew Davis as administrator. Robert senior's wife Sarah Powell is also mentioned. Also inclued are the Philipson heirs of Cary, Chisman and Moss. I will provide an abstract of it all at a later date. Until then.....where is there a record that says that Mary Powell widow of Thomas married Dr. Robert Philipson? Thanks for any help you can offer. MJZ
