I have a Samuel Powell, b. Chester County PA. 1823, came to Clark County Ohio about 1843, and died there 1900. He had a brother Allen Powell in Clark County and a brother Thomas W. Powell in Pickaway County Ohio. They were sons of an unknown Thomas Powell, (1793-1873) wife, Catherine Wright of Chester Co. Is anyone working on these lines, or any of the Chester County PA. Powell lines? Thomas has been my "brick wall" for thirty years. My POWELLs were near-by in Champaign Co, OH,. when yours arrived in Clark Co, OH. Until about 1816/17 a large part of Clark Co belonged to Champaign Co, but I don't think that any of my line settled in that part. Likely, however, that some moved across the line at some point though. It's also within the realm of possibility that my Joseph POWELL, b abt 1730, place unknown, could have Pennsylvania connections -- his wife's family were from Germantown, and they were living in what was to become Mobrgomery Co., PA, about the time of her birth (c 1733).
