I am searching for leads on my paternal grandmother, Kate Powell. She was born in 1898, not sure where. Her father was George W. Powell, whom I was told moved his family from Texas to Mississippi. They ended up settling in Straight Bayou (Sharkey County). Kate had 2 younger sisters who died very young from some disease. She had a brother RJ and a sister named Mattie. I wish I would have talked to her more before she died about her growing up, but it seemed like something she didn't want to talk about. Please let me know if you might have any connections to this George W. Powell.
