Hi; My John H Powell b.1760 in Duplin Co, NC d. 1819. He lived in the Edgefield area from about 1780 to 1806 when he and his family migrated to Jones Co, GA. His son Hiram Powell married Penniah Barnes. I wonder if there is a connection with your Barnes?
