Powell, 87, of 1008 S. Ash Ave., a lifetime resident of Marshfield, died at 2:45 a.m. today at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She had been hospitalized since April 14. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Rembs-Kundinger Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert Haring, pastor of Faith Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The former Caroline A. Freund was born May 26, 1887, in Marshfield, where she received her education. She was married to John Powell on Feb. 19, 1906, in Marshfield. Mr. Powell, who died July 23, 1957, operated a tavern in Marshfield for 14 years until retiring in 1945. The couple had observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1956. Surviving are three sons, Henry, Ogema, and Edwin J. and Frederick, both of Marshfield; a daughter, Mrs. Jake (Alice) Rizzi, Spencer; 23 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were two sisters, a brother, and a daughter, Mrs. Esther Earsley.
