Dickey, You mention a James/Rebecca Powell family...do you know what their childrens' names were? I ask because I had seen a Rebecca Powell listed in Rutherford, Rutherford County, Tennessee. She was a widow, and had a daughter who would have been my gr. gr. gr. grandmother's age, but in that particular year, they only listed the name of the head of the family, so I have no idea if her daughter's name was Rebecca also, or not. You see, my gr. gr. gr. grandmother's maiden name was Rebecca Powell and she was born in Tennessee in about the year 1806. I haven't had a great deal of luck finding many Rebecca Powell leads to go on, but this particular one seemed likely. I am caucasian and so was this family. It is late at night or I would pull out my file and see what year this census was taken, but I thought I would ask you what you know of the James/Rebecca Powell family that you mention. Thanks!
