Virginia, in my "Ole Susannah" Powell line I too have an Andrew Jackson Powell he is shown on the Wi. 1850 census as being (Idont have it in front of me) I think he is 18 in that one. & b. WI. however the time he was b. it could have been listed as MI. IN. & one other state at that time. he is gone in 1860 & I can find no trace of him. I found him one time as marrying someone in Iowa, very close to the WI. border as my Powell's were from grant Co. WI. when I got in touch with the person he told me the actual name turned out to be Powers. this man had cancer & I was never able to finish with him as I am certain that the man had been a Powell & changed it to Powers. this is in NE. so I too have my problems with this line. my husbands line is of this Susannah. she had several ch. from son John 21 in 1850 dies in Vicksburg with the WI. 20th of disease. bur. in common trench. he has a very big land scandal going on in WI. when he dies. wife carries it on till she finally marries the defendant. keeps all her land & gets his land. the land she keeps of John's was given to her husband from my Susannah.she has a son by him & I cant find him either & I think his name is A.J. Powell too. this is why I look at this list a lot. always searching.as I know someone has this information. somewhere........still looking though.
