I have found no connection with the Powells being discussed recently but would also like to continue receiving all the information being exchanged. I have a Powell line I've been working on and am hoping to find a clue where I am stuck. My gr-gr-grandfather, Lemuell B. Powell, was born 1826 in Virginia, married Phoebe J UNKNOWN, and moved to Illinois where a son, Alfred Levi Powell was born in 1859. Lemuell was in the Illinois 77th Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War and died of pneumonia while serving. His wife died soon after and their son, Alfred, was sent to live with an uncle named Robert Powell. That's about all I have to go on and I'm still trying to find Lemuel's parents and I assume Robert's parents, too. Pearle Pruitt
