I understand that a DNA test is a simple swab of the inside of your mouth (take a few extra seconds on each of the two swabs. My question is: What do they have to compare it with if everybody is dead and has been for years? I know that there is probably a simple answer but I just don't get it. Jane Foley
The only way to be 100% sure of ANY DNA Test is to Test both subjects. In other words you would have to dig up the Deceased and compare your DNA to thiers.-Jack Powell

Patrick and others, I know the list has been very active the last few days. Many messages have dealt with DNA which may be of no interest to you. I have requested a Powell-DNA mailing list, however to person who sets up the new list has a broken ankle, thus the new list are being delayed. Please bear with us. The list will slow back down! (which I hate to see) If you fill you must leave, here are the instructions. This instructions were copied from the mailing list instructions. Unsubscribing. To leave POWELL-L, send mail to POWELL-L-request@rootsweb.com with the single word unsubscribe in the message subject and body. To leave POWELL-D, do the same thing with POWELL-D-request@rootsweb.com. Unsubscribe from POWELL-L Unsubscribe from POWELL-D (digest) I apologize to the list administrator for stepping in, but I feel the DNA project messages are part of the problem. Thanks to all. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
