David, Since Mattie died 1975, you should be able to get a copy of her death certificate from Austin. If the person providing the information knew it, the certificate should include her place of birth and the names of her parents. You might even be able to get it from the city or county of Dallas. I think the city will have it if she died within the city limits and the county will have it if she died outside of the city.
