---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Lumberport resident Freda Mae Powell dies at age 103 SHINNSTON -- Freda Mae Powell, 103, of Lumberport, died at 6:55 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2004, at the home of her daughter following an extended illness. She was the last surviving member of her immed- iate family. She was born June 29, 1900, at Lambert's Run, a daughter of the late Virgel Lee and Nettie Alice Shreve Drummond. Mrs. Powell was married on July 29, 1933, to Mr. Raymond Powell, who died November 4, 1978. She is survived by twin daughters, June Barker of Lumberport and Jean Harbert and her husband Jerry of Enterprise; 6 grandchildren, Cheryl Barker, Lumberport, Randy Barker and his wife Penny, Lumberport, Melissa Hardman and her husband Darren, Lumberport, Jeff Harbert and his wife Melissa, Shinnston, Jay Harbert and his wife Melissa, Shinnston, Jay Harbert and his wife Vicki, Lumberport, and Jon Harbert and his fiancé Tina Walstrum, Shinnston; 8 great-grandchildren, Stephanie Barker, Lumberport, Dale Davis and his wife Missy, Lansing, Michigan, Kayla, Lauren, Daniel and Dalton Hardman, Lumberport, and Jacob and Sydney Harbert, Lumberport; 1 great-great-grandson, Will Davis, Lansing, Michigan. Mrs. Powell was also preceded in death by her brother, Emory Drummond; her 2 sisters, Mabel Wright and Thelma Williams; and her son-in-law, Charles E. Barker. Mrs. Powell was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston, from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Robert Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at the Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery.
