Can anyone tell me who the parents were of the Edward Powell who was with William Byrd during Byrd's journey laying the dividing line between Virginia and North Carolina in 1728? In William Byrd's "Histories of the Dividing Line between Virginia and North Carolina" published by Dover Publication in 1967 (paperback) on page 143 " Only I had order'd 3 of them who were absent to convoy the Bread Horses thither, the nearest Road they cou'd go, namely Thomas Jones, Thomas Jones, Jr, & Edward Powell, to the last of which the Bread Horses belong'd." On page 319 of the same book, it states that Edward Powell was one of the men employ'd on the second expedition. Thanks for any ideas or thougths? MJ Zimmerman
