GA census. There are several other POWELLs listed nearby his home as follows: page 276 Lewis POWELL, page 278 James POWELL, page 279 Sampson POWELL, page 281 John POWELL, page 282 Benjamin POWELL, page 282 Silas POWELL, page 283 William POWELL, page 286 James POWELL, page 276 Quinney POWELL, page 278 James POWELL. Is this your William? I also find that Quinney did several land transactions in Randolph Co. GA (below). My 4th great grandmother Nancy Ann POWELL (Quinney's daughter with Patsey HICKS) married one of their next door neighbors, Johnson MATHEWS (MATHIS). Johnson was from Cumberland Co. NC, and was son of John Hardy MATHEWS b. 1749 Edgecombe Co. NC. Additionally, Quinney had past transactions with Johnson. I don't know what happened to Johnson MATHEWS first wife (Milly Cawfield and children), but later married Nancy Ann POWELL, Quinney's daughter. Nancy's mother was Patsey HICKS who was a 100% Cherokee Indian woman who had grown up in Indian Territory. We do not know what happened to Patsey HICKS.
