The Brittain Powell that I am trying to research left a will in 1838 in Duplin, NC which named his wife, Mary and the following children: (married daughters) Amelia Powell Johnston; Mary C. Powell Bland; and John, Lany(f), Elizabeth, Martha, Elisha, Isaac, and Jacob Powell. Elisha was born abt 1786 and Isaac abt 1784. That is about all I know about this family. If this looks like the Brittain Powell in the book, I'd appreciate any information you could share with me. Thank you, Earlene
The Powell Families of Virginia and the South. pg 539 in the book it states: "Deed Book 11 Page 25-26: Deed dated November 12, 1821 and Recorded April 28, 1838 from Britain Powel and Mary Powel, his wife to their son Jacob Powel of 300 acres with reservation of life title for self and wife..In the line description those named were: Biro Williams & William Bland as joining property owners.
