Rex Powell is his grandfather. Rex was born to Edna Harris and Raymond Powell. Raymond's parents were Solomon Powell and Minerva Garman. Solomon's parents were Dorcas Mann and Thomas Francis Powell. If you go to find a grave both Dorcus and Thomas are buried in Linn County MO. You can also look up Missouri Archives on Google and find a great heritage site that allows you to look up their death certificates for free. I'm having no luck tracking down Henry Powell from Virginia (Thomas' father). It looks like Thomas was born in Virginia and followed the railway to Iowa where his son Solomon was born. Then the Powells set up camp there for several generations. On find a grave there are obituaries for Solomon and Minerva that give info on Laura Wright.
