Author: StephenDennehy29 Surnames: Powell Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.powell/7194/mb.ashx Message Board Post: It seems to me most likely that this Samuel who was born circa 1620 was the Samuel s/o Thomas and Elizabeth Powell of Northampton Co. listed in a court case in 1638 when he was convicted of stealing a pair of britches. Thomas was born c. 1594 (aged "over 3 score years" in a 1654 deposition in Northampton Co. court records) came to The Eastern Shore of Virginia on the ship "The Sampson" in 1618., probably mar. Elizabeth c. 1618, had a son John c. 1618 and a son Samuel c. 1620. Samuel named his first son Samuel, his 2nd. son Thomas.Thomas d. 1662-1666 in Northampton Co.
