The one that Terri referenced with deeds in Houston and Twiggs Co. was older and seemed to be associated with Wm Powell. He is not the same Quinny Powell who was born ca. 1810 in NC, shows in Dooly Co., GA in the 1832/3 Land Lotteries, and in Lee Co., GA next to Loami and Nathan Powell. This is the Quinny Powell who moved to Burnt Corn, Monroe Co., AL before 1850, with Irwin Powell, and shows there consistently until after the 1880 census. He is likely a son of Nathan Powell of Lee Co., GA who married Charity Bird in Robeson Co., NC and shows there in the 1810 census. His line has been confirmed by DNA as Haplogroup I1, the same as Douglas Powell, Nicholas Powell and Daniel Powell who also show on the 1810 Robeson Co., NC census. Nathan Powell of Robeson Co., NC, Dooly Co. Ga and Lee Co., GA is likely a son of Douglas Powell who shows in 1790 Robeson Co., NC with a house full of children.
