They are the the professionals in DNA genealogy and Ancestry is much behind them. Having said that, if you have the free DNA offer from Ancestry, it is worth submitting that too. I have submitted DNA to Ancestry as well. You will find FamilyTree gives much better and more usable results. To answer your question, DNA results should open many new doors for you, whether they lead to my line or another. You will be amazed at how helpful it is.
