Aniyah Eriell, yours is an unusual enough name that it will turn up in future genealogical searches as a beacon! When you start your search, you begin with your parents, individually. Find out the parents of each parent as well as much as you can learn about their dates (birth, marriage, anything else) and the place that any of these took place. At that point, look on the internet. You can search for SURNAMES and LOCATIONS; there are many sites with specific surnames and people looking for those surnames and there are even more location sites - Virginia, Southside Virginia, Shenandoah County, PA, for example. Look for your locations and leave messages on the site. You may hear from someone right away - you might get a reply five years from now! Into your query request put as much information as your parents feel comfortable putting out in public (remember this can be read for many years from now). Your parents might not want their birthdates public, but might not mind the birthdates of their parents, for example. To begin with you might not need to leave a query - perhaps there are already messages on that site with the names you're looking for. You can search the site and maybe find something that gives you a clue. I'm sure you'll hear from others about ways to proceed.
