There could be a connection: My Ggrandfather's name was Stephen Powell, Wife's name Cely; My grandfather's name was Samuel, had a brother name Oliver, Cornelius. Oliver was a fireman in Charleston, South Carolina. My grandfather Samuel along with his wife Lula Smalls-Powell moved to New Jersey around late 1920 early 1930, his brother also resided in New Jersey. I hope this information would help us both.
