Opelika, Ala. Aug 20- A letter to the mother of Capt. John Powell, Company I, 167th Infantry (the Rainbow division) of this place, from Maj. Dallas Smith, received last night, contained the information that Captain Powell had been killed in action on the Aisne-Marne front.
