She was apparently the daughter of Louisa Chadick/Louis Blake Powell and was married to Frank Brown who died in California in 1941. Their son, Julius Powell (he later assumed the name Julius Caesar) Brown was my father (known as Jude Brown), born in 1914 in Texas, died in 1940 in Texas. I am really trying to find the Indian connection in our family; I thought it was the Chadick family, but maybe it is the Powells? I don't know what Indian nation; I have been told they were Cherokee. The one that Terri referenced with deeds in Houston and Twiggs Co. was older and seemed to be associated with Wm Powell. He is not the same Quinny Powell who was born ca. 1810 in NC, shows in Dooly Co., GA in the 1832/3 Land Lotteries, and in Lee Co., GA next to Loami and Nathan Powell. This is the Quinny Powell who moved to Burnt Corn, Monroe Co., AL before 1850, with Irwin Powell, and shows there consistently until after the 1880 census. He is likely a son of Nathan Powell of Lee Co., GA who married Charity Bird in Robeson Co., NC and shows there in the 1810 census. His line has been confirmed by DNA as Haplogroup I1, the same as Douglas Powell, Nicholas Powell and Daniel Powell who also show on the 1810 Robeson Co., NC census. Nathan Powell of Robeson Co., NC, Dooly Co. Ga and Lee Co., GA is likely a son of Douglas Powell who shows in 1790 Robeson Co., NC with a house full of children. But when I got further into my research learned that our line, is not on the Dawes Rolls, and did not leave GA until 1864 or65. Although they arrived in KS and some lived in what was listed as the Indian Territory that later became Oklahoma. We feel it is there somewhere but further back than it had been reported.
