    2. Barbara: Yes, I just found this in my book. I was thinking and hoping she was married to a Powell, but unsure of which Powell. Curious about the Ann Hill who married a Powell. Which Powell did she marry and what date? I have been trying to do some searches on William Davis as he was the executor but have yet to come up with a connection to Powell. However, the Davis family was certainly in the area of York, James City etc in the earlier 1600s. The Hill family certainly was in Warwick and York earlier as I know a Maj Hill had land near where a Seamore Powell had land..1694. And the Denman name has surfaced several times in deeds for Powells from late 1600s to mid 1700s in the York area. Any other ideas or suggestions? Thanks. 3. By searching around the net and on Powell Genforum, I found a few instances that state Charles L. Powell that married Nancy Edwards was a son of Charles Powell and Lucinda Hancock of Franklin Co. VA., and that this Charles Powell was a son of Robert Powell and Chathere Tuggle of Franklin Co. VA. Lucinda Hancock is said to be a daughter of Lewis Hancock and Celia Hancock. I did not see a source noted on any of the material, but still this would be a good hint as to where to look for more clues. 2. Thanks AT but I did not find that very successful. Mostly it was Gedcoms with no date of birth or information. However I have found via LVA and Ancestry..some possible Edward Powells who were "around" in 1728 when Byrd did that dividing line: 1. 1714-1720 a Edward Powell was paid for 1 wolf head in Prince George County 2. 1746 - A Edward Powell received land 730acres in Surrey(18 years later so possible) 3. In 1654 and Edward Powell was transported to this county by a John Thomas in Nasemond Co. (Perhaps a father of the 1728 Edward) But haven't found anything conclusive about who the Edward Powell was in 1728 who was on Byrd's expedition. Thanks for your suggestion tho. On page 319 of the same book, it states that Edward Powell was one of the men employ'd on the second expedition. Thanks for any ideas or thougths? MJ Zimmerman
