    2. Katie I am not sure who this Lucas is, but are you talking about the "Powells" of Jamestown, etc? I have read about them I don't know if my line goes there or not. 2. Katie, I am not trying to bad mouth anyone, because I don't know them. And I owe 2 Great Aunts in particular a great debt. One of which just passed away a few mmonths ago. They were my Grandpa Powell's sisters. They stuck by my mother and my sisters and me even after my parents divorced. And if any one ever deserved wings in heaven those two ladies do. But just to be blunt you don't know the half of it, strange just doesn't quite describe it. Are you related to the Powells? If so, what branch? 2. Katie
    3. Oh, well I can be blunt and say I am a Powell and my family are ALL strange. They have nothing to do with each other. THey have a long line of alcholism in the family line. My reasoning for asking you this question is because the "Powells" that dont have the little 'quirky' things about them say this about their own flesh and blood, like I do. My people are out of NC and my line moved to VA. It seems my line wasnt 'important' enough to be named in the Powell's of Va and the South by Lucas. I am slowly going back through my line part by part. ----- Original Message ----- From: eaglesnest3@wiredog.com To: POWELL-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, February 28, 2005 4:38 PM Subject: Re: [POWELL] New member posting Powell Lines Katie, I am not trying to bad mouth anyone, because I don't know them. 2. Linda, Thanks for the message. See that is the thing. I was raised not knowing hardly any of the Powell side of the family. Thats a long story. So I really don't know a whole lot. And the family that does have information already aren't sharing or I don't know them. I guess I am probably just looking for a needle in a haystack. I do know I have some cousins living in Colorado, a Great Aunt in Arizona. Thank so much, let me know if you come up with anything else.
