NJ POWELLs are not unique. My James POWELL and wife Mary REEDER of Hunterdon County, NJ left there to Hampshire County, VA (now WV) in 1787, right after the Revolution. Moving backward, this James POWELL and his origins are also unknown. However, we have 100 years separating our NJ POWELLs, and I don't see a way we can make a connection. Just didn't want you to think you were the only one with a NJ POWELL. My Sam and Maggie were rather nomadic so they didn't live in just one county, although they seem to have stayed in the south Jersey area. It's possible Margaret may have died in Tabernacle, which is Burlington Co., but I have no idea where Samuel died. I'll have to check the library for obits - that is a very good idea. I've already looked through the Federal censuses and although I found a Samuel Powell in Pemberton in 1880, when I followed him through to later censuses I discovered he was not the right one. Thanks again for the offer to help. Just keep me in mind as you research your family, and if you find anything feel free to send it to my e-mail address. I don't want to take up your time researching my family, but you never know what you'll find in your travels! Jeanne

From the link that you gave me before...that was the son of the Ward Kenneth Powell that I am looking for. As I mentioned before my it jogged a few memories from my mother and she said the Ward Kenneth Powell that I am looking for is Ward Kenneth Jr. so that means I guess that there is also another Ward Kenneth Sr. I'm sorry I'm not much help with this...I wish that I knew more to tell you the truth. I had started this family tree search so that I could teach my children the history of our family and ended up addicted to searching for people...ha ha Kimberly
