    3. Hello Powell Family, it seems that our names sakes are living every place on earth. I am searching for those who may be linked to those who live, or may have lived in Knowsley Village, Knowsley. The farm was given to the POWELL'S AS A GRACE & FAVOUR by Lord Derby but was purchased through the Liverpool City Council some years ago on the death of Lord Derby. My father John Edward Powell worked the farm for some years, and died with.Sid & Alice the last owners dying these last couple of years. One of their remaining children of which two children have had to decide as what to do with the farm keep it, or sell it. I would be very happy to contact anyone who may have any news, or information to offer us down under here in Australia.. Kindest regards to you all. 3. I have an Ephriam POWELL with wife named Ellen. They had an infant son Edward b 30 Mar 1875 & d 10 Aug 1875. He is buried in Oakdale Cemetery, Urbana, Champaign Co., Ohio. This is all I know about Ephriam.. It's from the cemetery records. Abram/Abraham and Samuel POWELL were early settlers in Champaign Co. They came from Hampshire/Hardy Co. in VA (now WV) via Kentucky. Both had large families. This Ephriam is probably a descendant but I haven't placed him; however, I do have a good bit of info on other known descendants of these two POWELLs. 3. Have you tried the 1930 census? She would have been 26 by then, and that might give you a clue about when the marriage was. Also, you can pick up a lot of information from the 1910 and 1920 census which should tell you who her parents and siblings were and where the lived and where they were from. 3. Don't overlook the possibility that he may have been named for the 4th President of USA. People commonly named their children after well known public figures. Often they were the younger children of a large family -- i.e, after the obligations to grandparents, aunts, uncles etc. had been meet. . 1. Nancy Jane Powell/ Daniel Newton Falukner
    2. From the Powell Rootsweb last week.... My Nancy Jane Powell (born August 29, 1860 in AL) was married to Robert Eli Keeney.  Her father was  Anthony Wayne Powell....(Jane Foley.) I have a Nancy Jane Powell and her Fathers name was James Madison Powell.(Sam Powell ). ======================================================= I also have a Nancy Jane Powell, a grandmother who was born to Jonathon Winchester (Chester) Powell, who was a son of George Powell and Elizabeth Kirksey Davis. This Nancy Jane ws born in Blount County AL in 1855. She married Daniel Newton (Newt) Faulkner. I have heard that she married a man named Barron or Barrow. My mother says she died about 1900 in or near Russellville, AL Mother was only about three years old at the time and was orphaned along with her siblings. I sure would like to contact someone who know more Nancy. The older siblings (my aunts and uncles) have all passed away. I have never seen a picture of Nancy or Newt Faulkner and know nothing about their life together. Any information would be certainly appreciated. Bob Hullette

    3. There are two families. The side of the family you are researching starts with William Cashaway Powell. He was the father of Green Lafayette Powell who married Mary Jane Elliston and was the father of Charles Edward Powell. The other family is William Cashaway Powell's brother Green D. Powell who also had a son named Greene Lafayette Powell who married Mary Isabell Elliston and had a son named Charles Elliston Powell. The information you received from the Bible is from Charles Edward Powell's side of the family. bj7175@netzero.net wrote: This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
