Linda thanks for your prompt response. Can you please send me your Benjamin's line[children] and your William's line by email to stephaxi@mindspring.com Our Benjamins are obviously not the same person , but either of yours might still be MY line. I am only sure of Barney, Elmer, and Ernest, my father. Barney was born in NC--- BUT NOT SURE AT ALL OF HIS PARENTs Thanks so much for your help. Also------Do you have any thing on Holly Adams' line.? I also have anNC Adams line that I can't trace back beyond 1825. Regards, Steph Powell Cecil
Hi Benjamin Eaton Powell, s/o Eaton and Holly married Nellie Causey in Montgomery Co. TN. They moved to Fayette, Co., IL before 1840. I have extensively reasearched this line and have seen his grave in Mulberry Grove, IL. With his first wife, he had 6 children. His second wife's name was Martha E. Cunningham and they married in IL. They had 4 children. I have been in touch with descendants of his. I descend from his brother, William Powell who married Rhoda Causey, Nellie's cousin. Also, William Powell ( b: 1701 d: 1792) who married Elizabeth (Dobson) was actually born in Gloucester Co. VA and we believe his father's name was John. That's as far back as I have on this line. I'll try to help you if you can tell me where you branch off of. If it's the children you show as Benjamin's, I'm afraid you have the wrong Powell line.
