Does anybody know a descendent from the Cader Roy Powell family that would do the DNA test .... This would sure clear up some questions .... We do have a match between Rev. George Cader Powell family of and the Lewis Powell (1779-c.1875) family of Georgia/Alabama. Now we need some more people to do this. It seems as though Cader Roy Powell's parent is Artemas Powell (1770/80) who has a son that fits in the 1820 Census and in 1830 Cader Roy is found next to Artemas. Question is .... Who is Artemas? I don't think they are related to John Powell who came from Virginia. Artemas is found in the records in conjunction with the Powells who came from Edgefield, SC. I am still looking at the possibility of Artemas being the son of Lewis Powell (1748-1831) who may also be the son of Lewis Powell (1719-). He's hard to find in the records... the name Artemas/Arturo/Arthur is a common name among the Powells/and/Sawyers in the neighborhood of Clouds Creek in Edgefield SC. These are just my own theories I am tracking down ... anybody else please chime in....
