In that time frame, "Jack" could also be short for Jackson. My gg grandfather was Andrew Jackson Powell and he may have been born in Georgia.................and then again, depending on which Census, he may not have been. But still, Jack could be short for Jackson. Hubert and Hilda lived in the Cincinnati area. They would have been my great-grandparents. Hilda died at the age of 29 in 1924...and from what is known...Hubert left the scene. My grandma was left alone with no parents at the age of 5. Since Hubert was so young(only 19 when my grandma was born)I am convinced he would have started another family.
