Warren's mother was Francis Powell, lived with him in 1850 in Calhoun County Al, lived with his sister in 1860 in Calhoun County. Would really like to find his line.     2. Robert: Your subject line, "Searching for the Powells" is an example of what I've been vainly trying to change to be more specific as above. Digest members rarely read the messages unless the subject line has more information about the message, i.e., the whole name, city, state, etc. Just stating "Searching for the Powells" says nothing because that's what this site is doing...searching for Powells. If I were you, I would try again with the subject line above; maybe you will find info on your ancestors from a digest member who matches your family. Good luck hunting. Jo-Ann Seitzinger

She was born May 3, 1936, in Boaz, Alabama, to Raymond and Sadie (Clayton) Powell. On October 19, 1957, in Angola, Indiana, she married Delbert A. Sybert, who preceded her in death June 23, 2004. Ima Jean was a homemaker and a member of Genoa Baptist Church. Many years ago she had worked as a waitress at the former Whitehouse and Blue Moon in Genoa. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie R. (Terrance) Osberger of Walbridge; grandchildren, Kyle Bedford and Vincent Osberger; sisters, Vivian Townson, Dean Duckett, Sue Gregory and Ruth (Aaron) Cooper, all of Alabama; brothers, Bill (Ellie) Powell of Texas, Willie (Margaret) Powell of Alabama, and Larry (Karen) Powell of Gibsonburg. Ima Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Kendra Bedford; sister, Othalua Naler; brother, Sylvester Powell; and infant sisters, Sadie Pearl and Dorothy Jo. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa.
