Pierre Emard, my great, great, great grandfather changed his name from Emard to Potvin in the late 1870's. He was born in Ontario, Canada, moved to Chicago , living there until the big fire. He then moved to the upper peninsula of Michigan to the Big Bay de Noc. I myself was raised in the same area.
