Originally the information I had on the family of Baldwin POTTER, as descendant of William POTTER one of the original settlers of New Haven, CT, came from the LDS Ancestral File, and had a couple of small errors. The other day I viewed FHL Film # 0902998, "Records of births, marriages, intentions of marriage, and deaths, 1774-1848" Rowe, Massachusetts Town Clerk. In the Ancestral File Baldwin Potter's second child is listed as Chauncy, but in the original record it seems to be Chaney. For the eighth child Sarah, the Ancestral files gives a death date of 17 Mar 1805, but in the original records it is given as 27 Mar 1803. For the ninth child Ansel the original has the added death date of 27 Feb 1805. Additional information concerning Baldwin POTTER's wife's surname came from Paul Allred, who has an extensive database of Franklin Co, MA family information. Thought I would pass this info on. Buried in Springer Chapel Cemetery, Trail Creek Twp, Harrison, MO. On 14 Jun 1817 when Ambrose was 23, he married Lucinda Whitney, in Orwell, Rutland, VT. Born abt 1798 in VT.
