    3. Mary, I wrote to you in the fall last year about an Andrew J. Potter whom I feel is the son of Ephraim and Nancy (Overbay) Potter. Andrew was located in Adams County, Illinois for the 1850 census, as well as his brother Ephraim Potter Jr., and then Woodford County, Illinois for the 1860 census. Andrew's first born child was a boy he named Ephraim. I don't have anything definitive that Andrew is Ephraim's son but there is a lot of circumstantial evidence which points in that direction. Andrew's death certificate indicates he was born in Indiana (unknown where). I lose Andrew after 1861, my g-g-grandfather Charles Augustus Potter was born 8/20/1861 in Barry, Pike county, Illinois. I find Andrew the next time in 1887 after his death in Labette County, Kansas. I am now trying to trace his steps from Illinois to Kansas but I haven't found him yet. Andrew had 11 children and I only have information about one and that is my direct ancestor. I hope to some day soon get to NC to check out the Potter's there and see if I can find anything. The only thing I have come up with is a possible link to PA but it is too early to tell. Any suggestions I would greatly appreciate to find past and present Potter's related to this family.
