The "Genealogy of Potter Families and Their Descendents in America" by C. W. Potter, written in 1888, is an excellent resource material, and has lots of good information. I've used it extensively, but, as is many times the case, is not 100% accurate. In my own POTTER line, I've found obvious (to me) discrepancies, though, not not too serious.
