It is my understanding you have been researching the POTTER line for some time and may be able to help me. I am at a very large wall with my ggg grandfather, Ezra POTTER. The only information I have about him is copied from note to note, without any solid back-up. To the best of my knowledge, I am a descendent of Ezra through his son, Jacob, b. 1805 +/-, and his third wife Ruth Jane LITTLE POLLACK POTTER. The descendents of Jacob are well documented by the local (Wayne County,PA) POTTER descendents. Jacob came to Wayne County, PA (Damascus Township) from Lumberland, NY. Ezra came to the colonies (Connecticut) as a missionary for the Church of England. During this time he met and married a Cherokee Indian Chief's daughter. He was stripped of his mission, but continued to ride from church to church each week. The number of Ezra's children is not known, except for three. Charles, Richard and Jacob. Charles married and settled in New Jersey. Richard bought land near Honesdale, PA This information was prepared by Mildred POTTER PAZEL and passed along to me. I appreciate your taking the time to read my letter and listen to my tale of woe about being unable to go, positively, beyond Jacob on my POTTER limb. Cheers and thanks in advance for any help.
