Do you have any evidence connecting Thomas with an Ephraim POTTER of Spartanburg Co.? I suspect Thomas POTTER of Rutherford Co., NC at time of 1790 census may be a relative. I am trying to make a connection from my Tilman POTTER (1792-1841), perhaps a son of Ephraim or Thomas POTTER who apparently emigrated from Spartanburg Co. with several Cantrell families to Middle Tennessee after the l805 Treaty of Tellico with the Cherokees opened the land for legal settlement.
