I have a Potter family of Joseph (1769-1839) and w. Lydia ( ) Potter with sons Ephraim(9/24/1796-1862) and Samuel who were from N.Carolina. They emigrated to Woodford Co, Ill in the 1830's after spending a few years in Wayne Co., Ind. The Woodford Co. bio of Joseph states that he had 17 th century ancestors from Holland. Can anybody help me with this family? My mother 's maiden name is Potter.
