I am looking for a P. Potter, married to Nina (Lanier) Harbor who died in Louisiana, probably New Orleans, in 1969. She was born as Nina Lanier June 30, 1902. I believe she was born in Birmingham, AL. Her first husband was Alton Harbor. She has two daughters, Therissa Evelyn Harbor and Kay Harbor or could be Kay Potter. Thanks Lewis Lanier

A book about the descendants of James Potter, a revolutionary war soldier, is now complete and will be printed in a week or so. He was the father of the follwoing children: Wilson, Eldridge, Nathaniel, Bentley, Thomas, and Samuel Potter. The book is hard bound, 300 pages with stories and pictures. Two POTTER Marriage Licenses are on file in Oklahoma. (This came from a North Texas list.) Potter, C. M. m. Butler, Birdie L. 3 Jul 1926 Potter, Fay m. Polson, Alene 3 Aug 1932 If you find one of these belongs to your family, that does not necessarily mean that they lived in Oklahoma. Many of them were from Texas and other nearby states. The License will tell you where their place of residence was most of the time. These are only a portion of the marriages in Bryan County, Oklahoma. These are original marriage licenses which were never obtained from the Courthouse. If you wish to obtain one of these Original Marriage Licenses, please send your request along with a stamped self addressed envelope to the Bryan County Heritage Assoc., a research library at P. O. I am looking for the children and grandchildren of Leila and Percy Potter. My Aunt Leila Tilton was born in 1900 in NJ. I have no information on Percy. I do know that they lived in Seagirt NJ in 1959. I don't know if they had any children. Could you be their child or grandchild? Any information would be very much appreciated. Posted on: POTTER Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/surnames/p/o/POTTER/queries/41 Surname: Potter ------------------------- Julie: There were several Thoms Potters in the VA area at about the same time in the mid 1700s. If you are tracing the Thomas Potter b 1746 who evertually migrated to Warren County, KY, I don't beieve he is the one who married Diana Alsop. The Frederick Potter Bible shows his mother was Susannah Potter. Another Thomas Potter(maybe a son of Benjamin) married Susannah Shockley. He may have been a nephew of Thomas(b 1746). There are some land transactions in mid-1700s with Thomas Potter and wife, Susannah. She died in 1806 in Warren county, KY. Thomas remarried Ann McGee 25 Sep 1808 in Barren Co. KY. The marriage bond was signed by a John Potter. Don't know which John Potter (maybe Thomas' son) this was but he married a Polly McGee near the same time and place. We found some transactions between a Thomas Potter, Sr. and a Thomas Potter, Jr. in VA. In addition to Thomas Sr.I have found a Lewis and Daniel who could have been the father of Thoms (b 1746(, The search continues for the maiden name of Thomas Potter and his parents. I would be glad to share the information I have accumulated. Dale
Posted on: POTTER Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/surnames/p/o/POTTER/queries/39 Surname: Potter ------------------------- I too am trying to find parents of Thomas Potter. I am sorry to send this to the entire rootsweb, but I could not contact Evelyn directly Hi Evelyn, my name is Dick Wood from Tucson AZ. I got your address from the Potter Web Page. I was wondering if your records list any of my ancestors >I have a copy of a Potter Genealogy that has 10 different Potter >families. Will be glad to do a look up. Evelyn I am a descendent of Ezra POTTER (my ggg grandfather), a missionary with the Church of England (late 1700's) who married a Cherokee Indian chief's daughter and was dismissed from the Church. He continued to serve the frontier (NY, NJ, PA) as a minister. He was probably born in England. The number of his children is not known. However three of his sons, Charles, Richard and Jacob are known. Charles, married, settled in New Jersey and had 9 sons. One of Charle's son's, Henry, had two sons who served with Captain Jack Sullivan, who marched up the Delaware River to put down Indian uprisings. Richard, bought land in Bethany, Wayne County, PA. Nothing else is known. Jacob (my gg grandfather), b. 1805 in NY, possible Lumberland, d. 7/3/1879, buried in Conklin Hill, PA. He was married 3 times. (1) Matilda Jane UNKNOWN BOOTH; (2) Jane REEVES WOOD; (3) Ruth Jane LITTLE POLLO(A)CK A daughter of Jacob and Ruth Jane, Matilda Jennie POTTER, b. 1864, married Norman GASTON. I am interested to know if you have any information that might shed some light on the ancestors of Ezra, his three sons, Charles, Richard and Jacob. It is my understanding, that sometime in this era (1750-1850), the Archbishop of Canterbury, was also named POTTER. Thanks in advance for any information. By the way, I have an old picture of Jacob, if you are interested in seeing it, I will send it to you.
