Her children were Lucinda J. Turpin, b. abt. 1852, Sarah Clementine Turpin, b. 3/12/1855 - d. 2/17/1934, Henry L. Turpin, b. abt. 1856 and William H. Turpin, b. abt. 1857. The information I found on a Leurany Potter shows b. 12/01/1823. Parents were Daniel Potter and Hannah Ricks. Siblings were Thomas, Zadock, Isaac, John Milton, Lydia Ann, Polly, Daniel and William Franklin. Could this be my Lavany but just mispelled? I am not sure if it is her or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cindy

Do you have any evidence connecting Thomas with an Ephraim POTTER of Spartanburg Co.? I suspect Thomas POTTER of Rutherford Co., NC at time of 1790 census may be a relative. I am trying to make a connection from my Tilman POTTER (1792-1841), perhaps a son of Ephraim or Thomas POTTER who apparently emigrated from Spartanburg Co. with several Cantrell families to Middle Tennessee after the l805 Treaty of Tellico with the Cherokees opened the land for legal settlement. After Feb. 28 my e-mail address will change to <tkpotter@comcast.net>.
